I Love Phonics is a fully interactive program that teaches phonics in the most fun and effective manner possible: by letting young players discover the principles of phonics for themselves.  Friendly characters and colorful, animated activities introduce your child to letters, sounds, and phonemes. Successful reading begins with a solid phonics foundation. Tart your child off right with this thorough program that teaches children, in a step-by-step approach, all the elements to reading which is the building block to success in school.  Two options for child's play: The default mode, called "Step by Step", presents the 44 phonemes (units of sound) of the English language in a structured learning plan. The other option is for parents to select specific letters and phonemes to appear in the games that children can then explore on their own.

The learning takes place in the "Phonics Funhouse" where kids meet Alice, Ted, and a cute mouse named Max. With these characters kids explore lessons about phonics and play five interactive games.  In the games, children can build words by using refrigerator magnets, learn letter sounds and rhymes by matching the requested sound or the missing rhyme to a photograph, and practice identifying sounds by playing bingo or dragging letters or sounds to a special "sound box." A special train helps children learn to draw letters.
